I do have to share this with you. Our friends went to service Sunday. I had prayed for Pastor Chuck all week that the sermon would touch our friends. They have been seeking the Baptism for years including the time when they were attending the revival. The Holy Spirit dropped something in our spirits to share with them and we prayed that it would be received in love and NOT critical. My friend will not let anyone do for her! She is a precious friend but she gives and will not receive. My husband told her that she was that way and that perhaps that is the reason she didn't receive the Baptism (she had questioned us as to why she wasn't receiving). I explained to her how the Baptism is A GIFT from our Heavenly Father! I told her to think of it as a beautifully wrapped present with a big bow and our Heavenly Father handing it to her. It came with no attachments, she didn't have to do anything ............just RECEIVE it as a gift. She was very open (which was GOD!!!) and said she thought she truly was that way. Sunday a message in tongues was given and it made her cry. She says she never cries when a message in tongues is given. Pastor Chuck preached from his heart and in his sermon, he said some of the same things we had just discussed with them the night before about it being in your heart and not in your head! When the altar call was given, she went down immediately! To make a long story a little shorter, she received the Baptism!!!!!! I mean she got a BIG DOSE OF IT. She heard Pastor Chuck say that he had been given that message two weeks before and I reminded her that God had prepared the way for her! She was in his thoughts! He knew then what she needed to hear (and others too I'm sure). God is so AWESOME! I thanked him for allowing me to be there with her when she received! What a special blessing for me!

God has a special anointing on Brownsville. I'm so thankful for the power of the Holy Spirit! Thank you so much for being obedient to Him!!!!

Growing up as a catholic I knew about Jesus Christ but did not KNOW Jesus Christ and what He did for me and the whole world! I did not know that all I had to do was to put my trust in Him and follow Him to gain eternal life. We were taught that Jesus died on a cross but I thought that He had received a bad break. I was not aware that Jesus was both God Himself and man Who was begotten of the Father, came to earth to die on that cross and be raised from the dead to take the penalty of my sins away, wash me clean and seal me with His Holy Spirit.

As I grew my teenage years through my early 20's were centered on drinking etc until the following happened to me.

At the age of 22 I watched a change of a fellow worker at Grumman Aerospace Corp where we built the F-14 fighter jet for the US Navy. His name was Tony and was a real tough hippie sort of a guy, long hair past his waist, drugs, girls and so on. One day I saw this same Tony reading a Bible while working on his milling machine. His hair was cut and he seemed different. I worked a few feet away from him with other guys. After a week or so the guys I worked with started to make fun of Tony and amongst themselves would call him a Jesus freak. I became curious about this change in him and went to talk with him one day. I said something like " Tony are you reading a Bible? He said yes and got down from the milling machine and began to explain that he had gone to a church and received Jesus as his savior. I really did not know what it meant but I was impressed with this different Tony. As time went on and a few more talks with Tony I remember working one day and asking God this, "Holy Spirit change me like you changed Tony". That's all I knew how to pray at the time. Little by little after that prayer I started to read the Bible and attend church. As time went on I asked Jesus into my heart and later on was water baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, but not in the Name of JESUS!

Believe me there is a difference!

About 5 or 6 years later after some really rough times I backslid. I fell back into my old ways and lived that way for a number of years until I was brought back to my spiritual senses by God and recommitted my life to God.

If there ever was a modern day prodigal son, well here he is. I had all of my Father's blessings but turned my back on Him and walked away, back into the world and sin. This backsliding into the world and sin must have saddened the heart of the One Who had pulled me out of all of my sin and shame and clothed me with His saving Grace.

I went on my merry way until I realized I had nothing without my Loving Father and His Way to salvation, His Son Jesus Christ.



As I realized this, little by little, because He still loved me, He started drawing me back to Himself. I looked up into the sky one day as I sat in my "pile of dust" wanted to go back to Him, wanted to go home. I told Jesus I was sorry for leaving Him, and I thought to myself that He had left me forever. At that moment I sensed His presence and my heart heard these words, "I never left you".

I was shocked and overjoyed to hear these three beautiful words.

This prodigal son was returning to His Father. His merciful arms were opened wide to accept me back into the flock, back into my home.



He mercifully brought me to a church where, on Sept. 16, 2007, I was baptized in the Name of Jesus.



Coming out of the water at this baptism all I could do was lift up my arms towards the sky praising and thanking God!



I knew something very spiritual and very deep had happened! Something I never experienced before!

From that moment, all my backsliding sins, my drinking, cursing, lying, etc were forgiven and gone! I mean forgiven and gone! My whole attitude was rearranged and changed where I now loved God, wanted to serve God and hungered after Him like never before!



This change has not left me but increased! Since then doors have opened up for me that were closed where I can now serve God.



The Lord Jesus Christ mercifully took all the stumbling blocks out of my way. I was going down the tubes and headed for hell, but He saved me!



Thank the Almighty God for His mercy, kindness, forgiveness and His rescue from my folly and sins!



Like I said years ago I was water baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost but not in the Name of Jesus!!!. No change like this ever took place in me before in my life than after my water baptism in the Name of Jesus!



Then on March 22, 2008 the Gift of the Holy Spirit fell on me and with it the evidence of tongues!

Now I walk with Jesus in newness of life, I walk now after the Spirit, not after the flesh.

Praise God!!! This dramatic change that God has so graciously done in me will last till He calls me home!

In yesterday's service (July 27) you said that God was healing marriages and broken hearts and I wanted to take a moment to let you know how being at
Brownsville played a huge part in the healing that took place in my marriage. The Lord brought us to Brownsville in January after being at a very dry church for several years. Being in the presence of Lord was healing in itself but little did I know God was preparing me for news that my husband was having an affair. I was devistated. I didn't know why this was happening to my family but here we were thrust in the middle of a disaster of a marriage. God moved on my husbands heart through the services at Brownsville and he felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit and truely repented. He sought help from men in the church and at the same time I was going to every alter call for God to heal my broken heart. Time after time I went to the alter and nothing seemed to change but I wasn't going to give up. God sent my husband to a man who does deliverance ministry, He was given his number through a member of the church who told him God would change him if he trusted and obeyed. He went and was instantly changed!!! He looked different he acted different he even smelled different. Well the Lord said I needed to go through deliverance too. What a miracle it is to truely be set free by God. I have never felt so light, bright, joyful, peaceful in all my life. We have both been transformed mind, body, and spirit and can truley be better spouses to one another and better parents to our children and Glory to God our life is now just beginning with endless possibilities we can't wait to see how God is going use our life to help other people. We just wanted thank you for being obedient to the holy spirit and we thank God for the truely caring family in this church without your help we may be divorced right now still living in bondage.

i wrote and asked for prayer couple of weeks that that could nbe healing and able to do lazor on tumor in airway it came to apss, praise God for his hand in this situation tumor in georges airway gone

i want to ask further prayer tumor on outside of trachea near aorta valve to shrink and disapear tumors in lugs to shrink and disapear that cancer dowes not spread healing here to make george strong and healhty here on earth for a good future tnak you god bless

I traveled with my youth group to visit your church when I was 12 or 13. I remember a woman that sang the song mercy seat. When I was growing up there was a lot of problems. My mother was an alcholic and drug addict and my father was in prison for 15 yrs. So my sisters and I had it very bad. One of the things that helped me threw it was the song mercy seat. When things were so bad I would sing that song. I knew one day things would get better. I have 3 sisters. My sisters angie and I went to church while my other 2 sisters did not. When I turned 15 I was finally put in a foster home and my sister angie was taken in by my aunt in Kentucky. My other 2 sisters were not as lucky. 1 became a teenage mom just to turn out exactly like my mother and the other has 2 kids and lives with the fathers mother. My sister Angie and I are living in Kentucky we are married and she has 3 boys and I have 1 boy. I think that going to church and that 1 song that helped me out threw the years helped us get away from all the torment and trauma threw the years. So I just wanted to thank your church so much. Who knows were my sister Angie and I would be if not for that song. Thank You Sarah
